Black Ops Zombies Money?

In Call of Duty Black Ops' Nazi Zombies mode, there is a drop(like max ammo) that gives you a money symbol. I know it drops off the guy in the Pentagon that tries to steal your loadout, and in later waves off random zombies...but I've yet to figure out what it does. Anyone have any insight?
